Director General: Caitlin Gorback

Year: 2011

Email: caitlin.gorback@dukeir.org

Caitlin is a senior at Duke and is happy to be witnessing her 3rd DISC. As sophomore, she was Assistant Chair for the Organization of Arctic Nations, for the first DISC. Sadly, she had to sit last year out due to other commitments, but she is back and ready to help host the best DISC yet! In addition to DISC, Caitlin is active in Duke International Relations Association, DISC’s umbrella organization, our high school conference, DUMUNC, our traveling team, and is the former Director of Campus Affairs. She also TA’s economics and is struggling through a thesis on trailer parks (no joke). Caitlin studies economics, mathematics, and German, and will be in NYC this summer working for the Federal Reserve Bank. While not engrossed in IR or econ, Caitlin enjoys baking, snow-skiing, traveling, and long walks on the beach. Just kidding about the last one. Caitlin looks forward to making her senior year with DISC absolutely EPIC, so get ready for an incredible conference, and she is excited to start working with you!

Hello! My name is Arjun Khanna, and I have the pleasure of being the crisis director at DISC 2010. I am a Junior majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Economics, and I’ve been involved in Model UN for a full nine years now. We have already begun working hard to make your DISC experience a productive, informative, provocative, and unforgettable one. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the pace, quality, or realism of the crisis that you will interact with over the course of the conference. And with the topic of the rise of Asia, we have the chance to explore some of today’s most interesting and pressing international questions. If you have any questions at all about the conference, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am thoroughly excited about the prospect of hosting you all at Duke come November. I hope to see you at the conference!
